The Issues

Ohio's death penalty system is inherently flawed because it is a system administered and applied by imperfect human beings.

Problems with Ohio's death penalty range across a broad spectrum but include human rights violations, wrongful convictions and exorbitant costs.

We work to address the death penalty problems in a practical and pragmatic way that underscores the most common values held by Ohioans. We strive to remain true to our activist roots and employ a measured and thoughtful approach to the myriad issues with Ohio's death penalty.

The issues we primarily focus on include innocence, geographical disparity, racial bias, impact on murder victims' families, public safety and costs.
